Gaming IndustryMacau Casino Operators Back MOP 20 Billion Diversification Fund
Macau’s six casino operators will contribute MOP 9 billion to a new government-led fund supporting industries beyond gaming.
Macau launched a MOP 20 billion government guidance fund on 23 October 2026, with its six integrated resort operators providing MOP 9 billion of the initial capital, according to the Government Information Bureau.
The government will contribute MOP 11 billion from accumulated returns on its fiscal reserves. The initiative brings the operators into a joint investment programme focused on economic diversification beyond gaming.
Macau Investment Management will oversee a three-tier structure of guidance, mother and sub-funds. Professional managers selected through an open process will manage the latter two tiers.
Investment priorities include emerging industries, industrial upgrading, research commercialisation and technology start-ups, alongside development links with Hengqin and the Greater Bay Area.
